Mr. Ryan Magill

Theology & Humanities

Ryan Magill teaches Theology and Humanities in the Logic and Rhetoric School at Mars Hill Academy. Originally from New York, he came to faith as a freshman at Wheaton College, where he earned a B.A. in Biblical Studies and also studied philosophy and ancient languages. He later completed an M.A. in New Testament at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary—where he met his wife, Katey—and earned a second M.A. in Greek and Latin from Florida State University.

Before joining Mars Hill, Ryan taught Latin, History, Bible, Rhetoric, and Senior Thesis at Regents School of Austin. He also served as Department Chair for Languages and as an elder at his church. He is deeply committed to classical Christian education as a means of both academic mentorship and spiritual formation.

Ryan and Katey have five children and enjoy reading, hiking, board games, road trips, and classic films.
