MASON, OH – Dr. James Albritton, Headmaster at Mars Hill Academy, is pleased to invite you to the groundbreaking ceremony for the school's new gymnasium on Monday, July 28, 12 p.m., at Mars Hill Academy, 4230 Aero Road, Mason. Join our Mars Hill students as they put shovels in the dirt to kick off construction of this 8,700 square foot, multi-purpose addition to our school building.
"As Mars Hill Academy continues to grow, our need for a gymnasium to house our sports teams and physical education classes has become a priority," said Dr. Albritton. "We see our athletic programs as unique opportunities for our students to develop Christ-like character as they apply Christian values to the competitive team environment. Our new gymnasium will give us the space we need to offer more athletic and non-athletic co-curriculars." Mars Hill Academy was founded in 1996 as a K-6 school with 27 students. Today, Mars Hill is situated on a 13-acre campus in Mason with nearly 350 students in grades K-12.
"I'm so excited about having our own school gymnasium where we can cheer on the Highlander athletic teams!" said Holly Edwards of Liberty Township, a rising freshman at MHA and member of the girls' volleyball team. "I love playing volleyball for Mars Hill because our coaches teach us so much more than how to compete well. As a team, we learn how important it is to respect our opponents, and give God all the glory in all circumstances."
