MASON, OH – Mars Hill Academy seniors Lauren Godfrey of Mason and Nathan Williams of Cincinnati were recently named Commended Students in the 2016 National Merit® Scholarship program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are recognized by the program for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition.

“Historically, about 25% of our seniors receive recognition from the National Merit® Scholarship program each year,” shares Mars Hill Academy’s Headmaster and Rhetoric School Principal Dr. James Albritton. “The success of our students attests to the effectiveness of the classical education methods we use. We do not teach to the test, but hold true to standards of truth, goodness and beauty grounded in the Scriptures.” Mars Hill Academy also had one 2016 National Merit semi-finalist, Nathan Davis of Mason.
