MASON, OH – Four Mars Hill Academy students received awards for their achievement on the recent National Greek Exam. Receiving High Honors was tenth grader Heather Merhout of Liberty Township. Earning Merit awards were tenth grader Drew Hicks of Cincinnati, and ninth graders Samuel Bennett of West Chester and Gita O’Brien of Liberty Township.
“This is the fourth year Mars Hill has participated in the National Greek Exam,” said Dr. Christopher Jero, MHA’s Greek teacher. “Thanks to a strong Latin foundation, which is an integral part of the Mars Hill classical and Christian curriculum, our students have been able to learn a lot of Greek in a short time. Our students have worked hard and deserve the recognition the NGE has awarded them.”
Greek is offered to MHA students beginning in ninth grade, following five years of Latin instruction which begins in fourth grade.
