MASON, OH – Mars Hill Academy students recently received awards of achievement on the National Greek Exam.  Receiving Blue (Highest) awards were ninth graders Kyle Chu of Cincinnati and Etienne Pienaar of Mason. Earning Red (High) awards were ninth graders Samuel Jero of Cincinnati and Gita O’Brien of Liberty Township.  Earning Green (Merit) awards were ninth graders Joshua Kuechly of Cincinnati, Jonathan Palmer of Mason, and tenth graders Samuel Bennett of West Chester and Matthew Williams of Cincinnati.

“This is the fifth year Mars Hill Academy has participated in the National Greek Exam,” said Dr. Christopher Jero, MHA’s Greek teacher.  “Thanks to a strong Latin foundation, which is an integral part of our classical and Christian curriculum, our students have been able to learn a lot of Greek in a short time.  Our students have worked hard and deserve the recognition the NGE has awarded them.”

Greek is offered to MHA students beginning in ninth grade, following five years of Latin instruction which begins in fourth grade.
