Mr. Nick Kuechly
Mr. Nick Kuechly joined the board July 2018 as an elected member. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from the University of Notre Dame. Mr. Kuechly was the former President of J&N, a global distributor of rotating electrical parts and their components. He and his wife Larenna have six children, including one MHA alumnus and four MHA students. The Kuechlys attend North Cincinnati Community Church.
Mr. Tom Thistleton
Mr. Thistleton and his wife Linda are the founders of Mars Hill Academy. He served for ten years as the Chairman of the Board, and now serves as an appointed board member. Mr. Thistleton holds a B.S. from the University of Dayton and an M.B.A. from Indiana University. He has served in various executive roles with high-technology companies, including a stint as CEO, and as a partner in consulting for Deloitte & Touche. The Thistletons have ten children, including six MHA graduates and four MHA students. They attend Christ Church Cincy in Milford. He maintains a Founder's Blog in hopes of stimulating Christian spiritual formation and worldview growth.
Mr. Chris Hall
Mr. Hall served for three years as an elected board member and then joined as an appointed board member. He holds a B.S. in Environmental Studies from Bowling Green State University, and an M.S. in Environmental Science from the College of Engineering at the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Hall is a licensed professional engineer with over 30 years of experience working for the City of Cincinnati at the Metropolitan Sewer District. He and his wife Patsy (MHA Office Manager) have two adult children, both MHA graduates. They attend Grace Bible Presbyterian Church in Sharonville.
Mr. Dave Ryan
Mr. Ryan served on the Board for three years as an elected member, and then rejoined the Board as an appointed member. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Wheaton College and a Master’s degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University. Mr. Ryan's career has included work in outsourced management, consulting, and supply chain development. Mr. Ryan and his wife Martha have three adult daughters, all of whom are MHA graduates. The Ryans attend Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
Mrs. Catherine Bell
Mrs. Catherine Bell joined the board in July 2019 as an elected member. She holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of Cincinnati and has experience in high school guidance counseling, donor relations, and community relations. Mrs. Bell also operates a small college advising business. She and her husband Matt have five children, all of whom attend MHA. The Bells attend Hope Evangelical Free Church.
Rev. Dr. Jason Hutchinson
Rev. Dr. Jason Hutchinson was appointed to the board in July 2019. Rev. Dr. Hutchinson, who is the senior pastor at Grace Bible Presbyterian Church, holds a Doctor of Ministry in Evangelism, Missions, and Church Growth Degree from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as a Bachelor's degree in education from Morehead State University. He and his wife Jennifer have four sons, three of whom attend MHA.
Mr. Marius Pienaar
Mr. Marius Pienaar joined the board in July 2017 as an elected member and was appointed to the board in August 2020. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Johannesburg University. Mr. Pienaar owns a small business that implements and develops material optimization software solutions for the sheet and plate metal fabrication industry. He and his wife Ananda have three sons, one of whom graduated from MHA and two who attend MHA. The Pienaars attend Good Shepherd OPC in Forest Park where he serves as an elder.
Mr. Tim Schatz
Mr. Tim Schatz joined the board in July 2020 as an elected member. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Mr. Schatz's professional career has focused on Brand Management/Marketing with stints at Procter & Gamble, Luxottica, and currently Conagra Brands. He and his wife Sarah have three children, all of whom attend MHA. The Schatz family attends Montgomery Community Church.
