Math and Science
The classical and Christian study of science and mathematics provides a greater appreciation of God as designer and creator of our world. The wonderful ingenuity, sheer magnitude, and incredible detail of His creation revealed by science and mathematics are reinforced to students through our integrated curriculum.
Mars Hill Academy offers a full range of mathematics and science courses. Students study science in grades 3-11, with high school courses in conceptual physics, biology and chemistry, and optional twelfth grade courses of AP physics and astronomy. Hands-on experiments and experiential learning in the lab bring science to life. Mathematics courses are required in grades K-11, with optional twelfth grade classes of pre-calculus, calculus, and economics. Advanced math and science coursework is also offered through an independent study program, with students taking Advanced Placement exams at the end of the year.
The classical study of science and mathematics gives students a wealth of opportunities to learn and practice the skills of reasoning and problem solving. When taught from a biblcial worldview, these subjects take on new meaning and point us back to the Creator of all.
