Lisa Knodel serves as Mars Hill Academy’s Advancement Director, where she leads the school’s communications, marketing, fundraising initiatives, donor relations, and alumni engagement efforts. With more than 25 years of experience in journalism and school communications, Lisa is passionate about telling the story of how the Lord is using Mars Hill Academy to build His Kingdom through the lives of students, faculty, and families.
Since joining Mars Hill in 2017, Lisa has helped shape and strengthen the school’s advancement efforts through strategic communications, community engagement, annual giving, and mission-focused initiatives. She has played a key role in launching initiatives such as Mars Hill’s Scholarship Granting Organization and the “Room to Grow, Space to Thrive” capital campaign, working alongside school leadership, board members, donors, and families to advance the mission of classical Christian education.
A graduate of Covenant College, Lisa and her husband, Chris, were drawn to Mars Hill when their daughter was just three years old—captivated by the school’s commitment to a fully-integrated Christian worldview. Now, with one graduate and one upper school son, they continue to see the fruit of that vision.
The Knodels are members of Southwest Ohio Reformed Presbyterian Church. As a family, they're often moving between athletic fields and theater performances or matching wits during a friendly game night.
