Mrs. Jen Powers

Little Highlanders PreK & Protocol

Mrs. Jen Powers has worked with parents and children for over 27 years in a variety of settings. She has a passion for loving and caring for the entire family unit and is delighted to cultivate wonder and awe in the hearts and minds of Mars Hill's youngest children in addition to serving and encouraging their parents.

With an education background, Jen taught Kindergarten, first, and second grade in local private and public schools in addition to teaching specialized classes for under-resourced high school students in neighboring school districts in Cincinnati. Jen is also the Founder & Director of Mission for the non-profit ministry, Tried & True Parenting, where she and her team support caregivers from all backgrounds in every stage of parenting.

Complementing her work as a preschool educator, Jen also serves as the director of Mars Hill Academy’s Protocol program. This distinctive curriculum is designed to cultivate both social grace and spiritual graciousness as students journey through the rhetoric years in grades 9-12. Under the guidance of the Protocol faculty, students develop the confidence to navigate a variety of social settings with poise and purpose. Through hands-on instruction, they learn practical life skills such as proper theater etiquette, navigating a formal six-course meal, introducing themselves to new adults, and initiating and sustaining thoughtful, meaningful conversations.

Jen and her family have attended Northstar Church in Loveland for over 25 years and have been a part of the MHA community for 12 years. Jen and her husband Chad are blessed by the entire MHA staff, who invest daily in their children from their own deep affection for the Lord, weaving His goodness and truth into every facet of their teaching. They deeply appreciate the school's high value of partnering together to encourage their children to pursue truth, beauty, and goodness in all areas of their lives.
