Support Mars Hill Academy
Mars Hill Academy is a true “independent” school. We forgo support from local, state, and federal governments, and religious denominations to keep our mission pure.
We rely on tuition revenue and generous donations from our school families and friends (i.e. individuals, businesses, and foundations) to cover the entire cost of operation. Donations are especially important, as they enable us to keep our quality of education high and tuition rates affordable. They also enable us to provide the blessings of a classical and Christian education to many less-privileged families.
When you give to Mars Hill Academy, you are making a powerful, positive difference for our students, our families, and our school. You are also advancing God’s Kingdom through the ministry of His school, Mars Hill Academy.
You can make a monthly recurring gift to Mars Hill Academy using a credit or debit card. Simply select your monthly gift amount and then click the “Recurring Donation” link below.

A gift of appreciated securities (i.e. stock) entitles you to a charitable deduction equal to the fair market value of the securities. None of the appreciation in the security is taxable to the donor.
Real Estate Donation
A gift of appreciated real estate is like a gift of appreciated stock. Any type of property you have owned for more than one year qualifies as a charitable contribution at its fair market value. The asset may be given outright or may serve as the corpus of a trust arrangement.
In the case of a personal residence, it may be given with the right of lifetime tenancy by the donor and/or spouse. An immediate charitable deduction is available to the donor, and the gift is not subject to capital gains taxes.
The gift of an item (e.g. gymnasium equipment) or a service (e.g. asphalt sealing) can bring great benefit to both the school and the donor. A receipt is issued for all gifts-in-kind; value is determined by the donor and his or her tax advisor.
Planned Gifts and Bequests
Remember Mars Hill Academy in your will, set up a charitable trust, or arrange for a charitable gift annuity that could benefit your family and the school. Read our Planned Giving Program brochure for more information and contact the school office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 513-770-3223, if you would like to learn more about our Planned Giving Program.
Mars Hill Academy Teacher Endowment Fund Donation
This fund was created for Mars Hill Academy supporters to make gifts and bequests to a permanent endowment of financial support for MHA teachers. Gifts to the fund will be held in perpetuity, with income only used to provide a means of funding for merit increases and retirement account contributions for eligible teachers of Mars Hill Academy.
Scholar Partner Program
This program was created to provide companies, foundations, and families with an opportunity to provide tuition assistance to Mars Hill Academy students in need. Organizations that participate in the Scholar Partner Program do not support a specific student, but rather purchase tuition unit shares, the proceeds of which are used to cover the tuition cost of qualified MHA students. Tuition unit shares range from one-quarter share to one full share. The Scholar Partner Program brings the extraordinary gift of a classical and Christian education to students who otherwise would not have the opportunity to experience it. Learn more about our Scholar Partner Program here.
Business Partner Support
Many businesses give time and resources to non-profit organizations as a benefit to their employees and the community, most notably in the form of matching gifts. Business partners can support Mars Hill Academy in the following ways:
- Matching Gifts – Many employers have a matching gifts program in place. They will match employee donations to select non-profit organizations up to a certain percent (typically 50% to 100%), sending a check for the matched amount directly to the school. Consult this list to see if your employer offers this benefit.
- Community Grants – Some businesses provide small grants to non-profit organizations to support specific events (e.g. fundraiser) or projects (e.g. construction of playground equipment). Grants of this type are usually small ($500 to $5,000) but are always meaningful, as they are directed to fund an existing need.
- Scholarship Support – Some businesses fund individual student scholarships and school scholarship pools. Often, these scholarships are directed to students who need financial assistance. Mars Hill Academy recently introduced the Scholar Partner Program (see above) to facilitate corporate scholarship support.
- Volunteer Time – Many businesses prefer to provide employee volunteer time to non-profit organizations. Mars Hill Academy has many volunteer opportunities and can arrange for a single volunteer event or create a customized volunteer plan for employers that desire to build a long-term relationship with the school. Click here to read more about service at MHA.
Many individuals and businesses support non-profit organizations by contributing products or services to fundraisers. Mars Hill Academy accepts such gifts, primarily for use in our annual fundraising dinner and auction. If you are interested in making a fundraiser donation, product or service, please contact the school office at 513-770-3223.
By supporting MHA, you may receipt a tax benefit as our school is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization. If you have questions about tax savings related to your support of MHA, we encourage you to consult with your financial or legal advisor.
Mars Hill Academy welcomes gifts made in honor or in memory of individuals or families with ties to our school. Thank your for your support!
