Emma May, Frieda
Emma, a seventh grade ballet dancer, was the
narrator in Treasure Island and is enjoying her
musical debut. “Auditioning for a play can be
challenging. But I am so glad that I took the
opportunity and prepared well for the audition,”
she said. “Throughout my time at play practice, I
have learned how much I love drama and
especially singing.” Emma’s favorite scene in the
show is “Chasing Rabbits.”
Ellery Powers, Patty
Ellery, an eighth grader at Mars Hill, has appeared
on stage in several productions, including Treasure
Island, The Phantom Tollbooth, The Wind and the
Willows, and Tales from China. Performing in a
musical has taught Ellery a lot about her own
voice, how to sing well, and discovering what it
means to be a child of God as you grow. Her
favorite scene is when Lucy makes a speech about
wanting to be queen, and her favorite songs are “You're a Good Man,
Charlie Brown” and “The Baseball Game.” Ellery enjoys managing her
own small knitting business, Loop & Knot.
Christopher Sheldon, Shermy
Currently a freshman, Christopher’s previous
stage experience includes roles in The Wind in the
Willows, Tales from China, Treasure Island, The
Phantom Tollbooth, and The Lion, the Witch, and the
Wardrobe. Choosing a favorite piece from the
show is difficult, but Christopher hopes you enjoy
“Little Known Facts” and “Glee Club Rehearsal” as
much as he does. In his free time, he enjoys reading, drawing, and
listening to music. Christopher thanks the cast for making this an
enjoyable show and his parents for their support.
